WURST 5K RUN MOUNT ANGEL

The Wurst 5k Run, presented by race|NORTHWEST, is an uphill, downhill, don’t get lost, eat great sausage (Wurst), beer drinking fun run. This 3.1 mile race navigates along the streets of Mount Angel and includes just enough hills to make it one of the worst (challenging) 5k runs you might do this spring.Along the way, zig-zag through town on paved & gravel roads, attack those hills in the first two miles and cruise to the finish in a downhill sprint before racing to the finish line and celebrating at the legendary Mt. Angel Wurstfest.  Live German music, great German food, fantastic German beers and great Domestic beers. See you there!

AWARDS
Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers.

AGE GROUP DIVISIONS
14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.

PACKET PICK-UP
We strongly encourage participants to arrive early to pick up their race packets.

TIMING
The Wurst 5k Run will feature race|NORTHWEST chip timing system. All participants will receive a reusable shoe timing device with their bib number. The timing chip and bottom portion of your bib number need to be returned at the finish line to receive your bierstein.

GEAR CHECK

Gear check will be available at the race site.

PARKING & TRANSPORTATION

Parking is available at the Mt. Angel Festhalle with access off Academy Street.  Street parking is also available on Wilco Hwy, Garfield St, and Cleveland St.

Results will be posted at www.racenorthwest.com/results after the race.

WEATHER POLICY
The Wurst 5k Run will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we reserve the right to delay, postpone or cancel the event. All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.

DIRECTIONS TO THE START

From the North:
Take I-5 south to exit 271 and follow state HWY 214 to Mt. Angel (Appx. 10-miles).

ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS from the North: From Portland heading South on I-5. Take Exit #282A onto HUBBARD CUTOFF RD NE toward Hubbard. Continue straight through Hubbard to Woodburn. Continue straight on Highway 99E (which becomes Pacific Highway). Turn Left on YOUNG ST (HWY 214). Bear onto SILVERTON AVE (HWY 214). Continue 6 miles to Mount Angel. Once in Mount Angel, continue on WILCO HWY towards Silverton.  On the south end of Mount Angel at 500 WILCO HWY is the Mount Angel Festhalle.

From the South:
Take I-5 north to exit 256 and follow state HWY 213 to Silverton, then HWY 214 to Mt. Angel. (Appx. 14-miles).

ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS fron the South: From Eugene heading North on I-5. Take Keizer Exit #260. Turn Right onto CHEMAWA RD toward Silverton. Continue straight on CHEMAWA RD which becomes HAZELGREEN RD. Continue 8 miles.  Turn Left at Stop Sign on MOUNT ANGEL HIGHWAY.  MOUNT ANGEL HIGHWAY becomes MAIN STREET. Turn Right on CHURCH STREET at Fountain and Right on WILCO HWY toward Silverton. On the south end of Mount Angel at 500 WILCO HWY is the Mount Angel Festhalle.
