Work Smart Workshop
SUPERVSIOR TRAINING: Managing Substance Abuse in the workplace. A Drug-Free Workplaces Seminar.
Did you know that seventy percent of all drug users are gainfully employed? The use and presence of drugs in the workplace take a tremendous toll on employee health, productivity and workplace safety, not to mention the cost of losses in unscheduled time away from work, lost productivity, higher health insurance usage, and increased workplace accidents and injuries. In a recent survey, sixty percent (60%) of Oregon employers identified substance abuse as a concern. Yet, only thirteen percent (13%) of Oregon’s businesses have comprehensive drug-free workplace programs in place. As employers, it’s time to ask yourself, is your business at risk?
Your local chambers are here to help. The Salem and Keizer Chamber of Commerce have joined forces with Community Action Drug Prevention Network (CADPN) and WORKDRUGFREE to create the PARTNER IN PREVENTION initiative. Through the PARTNER IN PREVENTION initiative, CADPN and WORKDRUGFREE will provide technical assistance, professional referrals, and training workshops to assist you in building a comprehensive drug free workplace program. Once a business has satisfied the requirements of recognition (the implementation of a drug free workplace policy and attendance to at least one educational workshop), the participating partners will recognize these businesses as a PARTNER IN PREVENTION throughout the year.
As a chamber member benefit, initial enrollment in this program is free of charge
To take advantage of this special offer, all you need to do is fill out a PARTNER IN PREVENTION available at the Supervisor Training on April 26.
Your Chamber encourages you to consider this program as an effective way to make your business more competitive in the local market. Do not pass up this opportunity to become a safer more competitive employer.
