S. L. Sun's Estate Open House
The paint is dry!
The trim is up!
The new kitchen is in!
It's time to CELEBRATE!
So states the invitation to an Open House at the family estate house of S. L. Sun at 4883 Delight St N, Keizer, OR.
S. L. Sun was a former Salem and Keizer resident and one of the former landowners who sold property (8 acres of orchard in his case) in 1961 for the development of what would become the Fred Meyer Shopping Center just across our border to the South in North Salem. He and his wife were the first Chinese couple to get married in the American fashion in the entire State of Oregon. At that point in time, they lived at 2890 Commerical St NE, Salem.
He built his family's house at 4883 Delight St N, Keizer, OR, sometime after selling his property to the commercial developer mentioned above. When he passed away, that house was put on the rental market, after a property management company was hired, because none of the family lived in the area anymore and they did not want to part with the house at that time. The family has recently returned to the Keizer area to check on the house and found it to be in serious disrepair. They decided to fix it up and possibly sell it. That project is now done and the family is holding an open house to present the house and to honor the contractors who had a hand in the repair work and to close the book on this chapter of S. L. Sun's contributions to the Salem and Keizer communities.
All are welcome to attend!
