The park at Keizer Station finally has a name.
Officials with the city of Keizer will be on hand at 3:30 p.m. Friday for a dedication and unveiling of the newly-named Pfc. Ryan J. Hill Memorial Park.
The park is near Keizer Station Boulevard and Stadium Drive NE.
Ryan Hill was an Army soldier and McNary High School graduate who was killed in the line of duty while in Iraq in 2007. He was 20 years old.
City officials realized earlier this year that the 1.3-acre park, which had generally been referred to as Keizer Station Park, had never been officially named. A public hearing was held in March to consider possible names.
