Healthy Gardens, Healthy People Workshop
Marion-Polk Food Share, in partnership with Pringle Creek Community, Willamette University and Marion County Master Gardeners, is presenting the Healthy Gardens, Healthy People Workshop Series. We are striving to make garden education as broadly available in our community as possible.
Gardening 101: An introduction to growing your own food, is slated for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Pringle Creek Community Garden. Registration is required and directions are given upon registration.
The workshops cover a variety of topics including soil health, composting, seed saving, vegetable gardening, hoop house construction, crop rotation, attracting birds, bees and butterflies, and managing pests. A $5 donation is requested per session.
We would appreciate your assistance in getting the word out about this workshop series which runs through mid-October.
Thank you for your consideration. If you’d like in-depth information about any of the classes, MPFS Community Gardens Program Director Ian Dixon-McDonald will be able to help you. He may be reached at 503-581-3855, ext. 329, imdconald@marionpolkfoodshare.org.
