Free Community Shred Day at Oregon State Credit Union
Oregon State Credit Union will host a free community document shred day open to the public on Saturday, September 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Keizer Safeway parking lot, 4952 River Road North.
The credit union is providing this community service where anyone can bring boxes of outdated documents such as old checks or outdated forms and statements with personal information. Documents will be securely shredded onsite for free with easy drop off in the parking lot between the new branch of Oregon State Credit Union and the Keizer Safeway store. The event includes a continued partnership with the Keizer Police Department and will run through 1 p.m. or until the shred truck is full.
Keizer Police Department Lieutenant Andrew Copeland said, “Shredding personal documents, credit cards, and unused checks is a great way to reduce the likelihood of becoming one of the millions of victims of identity theft nationally. The Keizer Police Department is excited to team up with Oregon State Credit Union on this event and appreciates the credit union for being proactive in the community by promoting ways to be safer."
“We remain an active partner in the Keizer community and, with local law enforcement, these events have been very well received. We have coordinated two similar shred days in North Albany and Corvallis this year and shredded more than 9,500 pounds of paper each time,” said Oregon State Credit Union Keizer Branch Manager Craig Williams.
Oregon State Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, open to anyone who lives or works in 24 western and central Oregon counties. Additional information about 85,000-member Oregon State Credit Union is available at oregonstatecu.com.
