FoodStock 2013
Live music, tantalizing barbecue and micro brews are in store for attendees at Marion-Polk Food Share’s debut FoodStock 2013 concert on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Marion-Polk Food Share, 1660 Salem Industrial Drive NE. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. Music begins at 5:00.
The concert with headliner Typhoon, a 13-piece Indie Rock band, takes place in the parking lot and on the loading dock of the MPFS warehouse. Typhoon, a popular Portland-area band, will be releasing its fourth album, White Lighter, and going on national tour just days after our concert.
Other performers include Fistful Band, featuring Twang to Funk, Waltz to Punk; and Counterfeit Cash, a Johnny Cash and June Carter Tribute Band.
MPFS Chef Steve Morton (whose son Kyle is the lead singer of Typhoon) and hunger-relief partner Steve Tipton (Mission of Hope) will man the barbecue. They will be serving pulled pork, hot dogs, hamburgers and sides. Local brews will be available.
Tickets are $25 for concert and food, or $15 for concert admission only. Children 12 and under are admitted FREE! Buy tickets here.
