Car Seat Check-up Event sponsored by Salem Health
Want to learn how to install your child's car safety seat? Trained technicians will teach you how. We also check for recalls, size and age best fit. We can receive and recycle any expired car seats during the check-up event.
To be eligible for the Car Seat Assistance Program, the child or the parent/guardian needs to show a current card for WIC, OHP or Oregon Trail programs. At the car seat check-up event, the technicians will confirm that there is a need for a new car seat.
Other program criteria:
1. Seats are only provided to parents or legal guardians, who must be present to obtain the seat. Only one seat per child.
2. The child receiving the seat must be present unless the baby is not yet born.
3. The vehicle in which the child travels must be brought to the car seat check.
4. Parents and guardians will be taught to correctly install and use the car seat.
