Blanchet's Mid High Drama Students Present ''Sleeping Beauty''
Blanchet?s mid high drama students will soon take to the stage in their latest production, ?Sleeping Beauty.? This musical differs from the more traditional version by telling the story from the viewpoint of Treakle, the fairy who promises to watch over the princess as she sleeps. ?The music for ?Sleeping Beauty? is very kid friendly and enthusiastic. I think whoever comes to see the show will enjoy the simplicity of the music,? commented choir teacher Mr. LaCombe. ?We have a great cast with lots of talent and energy,? says drama teacher, Mrs. Snyder. The cast includes four eighth graders and fourteen seventh graders including Maddy Witwer-Dukes who plays Rosamund and Matt Creagan who is cast as Prince Valor. ?Members of the audience should be prepared for a pleasant surprise!? Mrs. Snyder added. ?Sleeping Beauty? is scheduled for Friday, May 30 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 31 at 2 p.m. at Blanchet Catholic School?s Weigand Arts Center. Cost is $2 or two cans of food to be donated to Marion Polk Food Share.
