33rd Annual Silverton Health Fun Run

The 33rd annual Silverton Health Fun Run brings the community together once again for a celebration of health, fitness and camaraderie.  The fun begins with a 1-mile dash for kids 10 years and under followed by a 5K run/walk through the beautiful town of Silverton.

There will be plenty to do before and after the races get underway; complimentary pre-run and post-run snacks are available from 7:30 - 10 am, and Silverton Fitness will lead 15-minute warm ups before the children's one-mile race and the 5K run/walk.  After the events more fun is on tap with sponsor booths and the presentations of individual awards for the fastest times in each age group.

The one-mile race for kids and 5K run/walk both start and finish in front of Silverton Hospital's main entrance.  The 5K will lead participants through the streets of Silverton, Coolidge-McClaine Park and along Water Street before looping back to the hospital.  Kids can participate in both races by registering for both, but will only be timed for whichever one they choose to wear their race number.

Additional support from Silverton Health staff, City of Silverton, Silverton Police Department, Marion County Cadets and Health Occupation Students will be there to make sure the event is a success.

The hundreds of participants from throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley can thank founder Michael Grady, MD who envisioned the event in 1983 when he raised the idea of a Fun Run to help the local medical community promote health and fitness.
