Are you interested in the science of mushrooms? Do you have a mushroom or other fungus you would like to have identified? Bring it! Are you already a mushroom expert who would enjoy helping others learn about mushrooms? Then attend a free Mushroom Show hosted by the Willamette Valley Mushroom Society in Salem on Sunday, November 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at Painter's Hall in the Pringle Creek Community at 3911 Village Center Dr. SE in Salem. Invite your friends and family members to join you at this Mushroom Show. Have your children attend their own mushroom activities. Learn from a commercial mushroom grower how to grow your own favorite mushrooms. Join an organization of mushroom collectors and learn how to safely identify, collect, preserve, and cook edible wild mushrooms. See examples of local wild mushrooms recently collected. Learn which mushrooms are poisonous. Discover the importance of mushrooms in our environment. Meet some really nice people and maybe make some new friends.
