42nd Annual Abbey Bach Festival
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, July 24, 25 and 26, 2013
The monastic environment makes the Abbey Bach Festival unique among events of its kind.
Each evening has a prayerful beginning with the Benedictine monks of Mount Angel singing the psalms of Vespers in their abbey church. Following is a one-half hour recital on the grand organ on Wednesday and a choir presentation on Thursday and Friday.
Guests then go outside for a picnic supper featuring the food of Bon Appetit catering. The mall is filled with celebrating musicians and music lovers. Blankets and chairs and tables are provided; some guests bring their own lawn chairs and tables - and some celebrate with flowers and candelabra!
At 8 pm the feature concert begins in the Damian Center. The menu for the supper basket as well as the musical presentations are different for each of the three evenings of the Festival.
