The Great Oregon Steam-Up has become known as “the best family event in Oregon” during which most everything operates. It takes place every year at Antique Powerland Museums on the last weekend in July and the first weekend in August.
Antique Powerland Museums is a 62-acre heritage museum complex conveniently located between Woodburn and Salem at I-5 exit #263, 1/4 mile west. There are 15 individual indoor and outdoor museums which include Truck, Car & Motorcycle, Caterpillar, John Deere, Logging, Tractor, Large Stationary Engine, Steam Sawmill, Blacksmith Shop, 1/8 scale "Live Steam" Railroad, Oregon Electric Trolley, Brooks Depot Historical Society and Country Store. Activities include a BIG parade, miniature train rides, trolley rides, youth passport, kids pedal pull, a collectors swap meet and flea market. An array of displays include fire apparatus, an operating railroad steam crane and other railroad maintenance-of-way railcars. There's also flour milling, steam threshing, live country music and great food. Arrive early and have breakfast.
