Economic Development \n\n\n\n  Economic Development Commission (EDC) Appointment. \n\n\n\nEDGA (by consensus) approved forwarding a recommendation to the Board and \n\n\n\nto City Council to appoint two Chamber of Commerce members AJ Nash and \n\n\n\nScott White to this commission\, with the condition that should Scott White be \n\n\n\nappointed directly by Keizer City Council\, that Bob Zielinski and AJ Nash serve \n\n\n\nas Chamber representatives on the EDC. \n\n\n\n  Empty/Land Building Tours.\n\n\n\nNo action taken   awaiting formation of the EDC. This event would require \n\n\n\nwilling property owners/representatives and should be well-coordinated as a \n\n\n\npositive communication about possibilities for new businesses in Keizer. There \n\n\n\nis a recommendation that this event could be part of the orientation for the new \n\n\n\nEDC members later this year. \n\n\n\n  Community Development Director Report.\n\n\n\no Chemawa Rd   "cow" property re-zoning application for Multi-Familiy \n\n\n\npublic hearing held with 120 present. Discussion included unlikelihood of \n\n\n\ncommercial use there\, possible amendment to design in application for re-\n\nzoning\, need for more multi-family housing in Keizer\, and effect of Verda \n\n\n\nLane roundabout. \n\n\n\n  Executive Director Report\n\n\n\no Verda Lane roundabout   City chose design option with most minimal \n\n\n\nimpact and slower speed/traffic impacts. Still working with ODOT\, bids \n\n\n\nlikely out this fall. \n\n\n\no New Businesses - \n\n\n\no Issues   concerns voiced by River Road business in problems in \n\n\n\nexpanding\, and concerns about how to better direct Salem Parkway traffic \n\n\n\n(signage) onto River Road instead of into Salem. \n\n\n\n2. Government Affairs\n\n\n\n  Proposed Sub-Committee for Government Affairs ("GAC")\n\n\n\nEDGA (by consensus) approved forwarding the submitted recommendation \n\n\n\nto the Board to form a Government Affairs Sub-Committee and to survey \n\n\n\nChamber members about level of desire for issues and candidates. Chair Callier \n\n\n\nasked EDGA members to forward and desired changes on the draft survey to \n\n\n\nChristine Dieker or Dan Clem by June 21. Extensive discussion included: recent \n\n\n\namendment to Chamber by-laws supporting endorsement of candidates\, desire \n\n\n\nby leadership to become more than an "event" Chamber\, the Chamber getting \n\n\n\nmore involved in public policy by having the sub-committee\, and the need to \n\n\n\navoid or not be involved in any issue/candidate which could adversely affect \n\n\n\nbusinesses or the Chamber. Membership of GAC will be discussed at next \n\n\n\nEDGA meeting. \n\n\n\n  2014 Election Draft Survey.
