Thursday will feature our brave\, wonderful Native American Veterans past and present who have helped defend our Freedoms since George Washington's era. A very formal Ceremony will begin at 5:15 in front of the stadium as a Caisson with a Flag-draped casket will be in place. A Drum Group from The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde will play for five minutes\, then the Oregon State Defense Force Bagpipe Band will pipe "Amazing Grace". The Grand Ronde Honor Guard will then take the Flag-draped casket into the stadium\, and place it in a Teepee encircled with American Flags. This Ceremony will represent the Thanking\, Honoring and Saluting of all Native American Veterans who have served and passed into the "Arms of GOD". A pre-game Ceremony at home plate will Honor the memory of Veteran and longtime Elder of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde\, Marce Norwest\, who recently passed\, with his family present. Also\, many more Active Duty and Veterans from World War II\, Korea\, Vietnam and the Middle East will be Honored during the game. The game is sponsored by CenturyLink\, the Volcanoes Patriotic Uniforms by AFSCME\, and the FANTASTIC FIREWORKS Show after the game by The Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
