Keizer, (OR) – January 8, 2020:  The Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that PGA Professional Mr. Chip Sullivan has agreed to join the McNary Golf Club team as the Director of Club Operations. Chip will begin leading the Golf Club on February 1, 2020.

Chip is a seasoned PGA professional with 30 years of experience in the golf industry, including over 20 years’ experience in golf management. His last assignment was General Manager/Director of Golf at Royal New Kent Golf Club (Virginia) where he was recruited to prepare the club for re-opening after being closed for 18-months while undergoing a major renovation. Chip has held multiple titles from Teaching Professional, Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, and General Manager at a wide variety of golf clubs including fully private, semi-private, and public courses in Virginia, South Carolina and Mississippi. With his background in managing all aspects of golf club operations, Chip has a proven track record of member engagement and enjoyment, growing membership, attracting tournaments and outings, and strong junior golf programs.

“The Board of Directors is excited about the caliber of talent Chip brings to McNary Golf Club. We are confident that Chip will help our golf club have a thriving future and remain a cornerstone of the Keizer community”, remarked President Jeff Jones.

Chip is also an accomplished player having qualified to play on both the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Chip won the 2007 PGA Professional National Championship at Sunriver Resort. This qualified him to play in the prestigious PGA Championship. He has played in nine majors in his career with his best finish being a T31 at the 2004 PGA Championship. Playing in Sunriver and vacationing in Oregon sparked their families desire to relocate to Oregon.

Chip is a Class “A” member of the Professional Golf Association of America and has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing from the University of Mississippi.

When asked about becoming the Director of Club Operations, Chip said, “I want everyone to know that I am thrilled to join the team at McNary and become a part of its longstanding tradition. I can’t wait to get to Keizer, start meeting everyone, and pursue the many opportunities McNary Golf Club presents. My wife Kari and I look forward to becoming part of the greater Keizer/Salem community.”

About McNary Golf Club
McNary Golf Club lies in the Mid-Willamette Valley City of Keizer, on the site that once was the homestead of Charles McNary (1874-1944), prominent Oregon Citizen, Senator, Lawyer, Law School Dean, Supreme Court Justice and the 1940 Vice-Presidential running mate of Wendell Wilkie. Since he was an ardent golfer, it is appropriate that the course was named in his honor at its opening in 1962. The Club is a semi-private, open to members and the public, classic parkland style course located in the central Willamette Valley. McNary is a challenging 6,239-yard par-71 championship layout that is playable year-round. With lush tree-lined fairways, true and consistent greens, lakes and creeks, it offers a memorable golfing experience.
