March 23, 2020
Due to impacts of the COVID-19 virus on local businesses--requiring modified business operations such as take-out and delivery only restaurant operations, the City will be suspending the enforcement of regulations for temporary and portable signs found in the KDC 2.309.  During this unprecedented time, the City feels it is appropriate to give additional flexibility to local businesses to advertise the goods and services offered.  Therefore, the only provisions that will be actively enforced for temporary and portable signs are the following:
  • signs must be located on private property and/or behind existing sidewalks (not in public rights of way or planter strips)
  • signs must be located outside of any required vision clearance area or create any safety issues.
